The Kelleher lab is part of the Division of Reproductive & Developmental Sciences at the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) . The ONPRC is located12 miles westof the OHSU main campus, and sits on 162 acres of land featuring forested areas, research and administration buildings, indoor and outdoor animal housing, a pond, and 2-mile perimeter walking path. Our mission is to improve human health and the quality of life through the support of nonhuman primate research programs that advance our knowledge of the causes, preventions, treatments, and cures of debilitating diseases. The Kelleher lab is seeking a motivatedPostdoctoral Researcher who will work on ongoing studies in pregnant and neonatal nonhuman primates (NHPs) of intra-uterine infection and inflammation (e.g. Ureaplasma or Zika virus infection), premature birth, fetal and neonatal growth and development and perinatal brain injury. Qualified candidates will hold a PhD in biology, physiology or equivalent and possess a comprehensive understanding of mammalian reproductive biology and molecular biology techniques. A strong background in reproductive immunology, placental or perinatal physiology is highly desirable. Competencies in cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular biology and tissue staining techniques are essential. Applicants will be expected to develop skills related to the management of ongoing non-human primate pregnancy and perinatal studies, working directly with NHPs for sedation and clinical monitoring, behavioral observations, physiological and post-mortem sample collection.
