Animal Research Technician III

Department LABORATORY ANIMAL RESOURCES (IN-LARS-IUINA) Job Summary This position will assist with the daily care of research animals housed within the LARC facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant animal care experience and AALAS level 1 (ALAT) certification or five years relevant animal care experience. Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University may be required to drive departmental vehicle. Ability to have direct physical contact with multiple species of animals. Willingness to participate in the Occupational Health Program for LARC employees, including receiving immunizations recommended by Occupational Health Services. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, managing multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions, and maintaining confidentiality. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Working Conditions / Demands Very strenuous work involving moving heavy objects weighing up to 250 pounds, repetitive motions and some delicate operations (injections, treatments). Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without an accommodation.
