Oregon Health and Science University
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join the laboratory of Dr. Aaron Grossberg, part of the Brenden-Colson Center for Pancreatic Care and the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University. The Grossberg Laboratory is interested in understanding how cancer disrupts normal whole body metabolism, and to target these signals for therapeutic benefit. Our research focuses on the mechanisms by which pancreatic cancer influence metabolic programming in the liver, fat, and muscle. We use a multidisciplinary approach to investigate the communication network of the tumor macroenvironment, including mouse models of cancer, metabolomics, rigorous behavioral and physiologic measures, and a panel of molecular techniques used in both murine and human samples. We are looking for an exceptional candidate interested in the cellular, genetic, and epigenetic drivers of pancreatic cancer cachexia. The position will involve independent research as well as facilitating on-going research projects, and will be expected to compete for internal and external funding.
