Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
A full-time postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Ruben Carrasco at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Highly motivated PhD, MD or MD/PhD, with prior experience in laboratory research and strong background in one or more of the following areas: Biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, cancer biology, cancer genetics, immunology are encouraged to apply. Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute brings together world renowned clinicians, innovative researchers and dedicated professionals, allies in the common mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. The position will involve the study of hematologic malignancies, and will lead to significant experience in a wide range of techniques such as human tissue biomarker analysis, flow cytometry, stem cell culture, engineered mouse models of cancer, image analysis, genomics studies, and specialized hematologic and oncologic techniques. Developing independence will be fostered, and opportunities for intellectual input will also be readily available although performance of some basic laboratory duties will be required. The laboratory is situated in the Division of Oncologic Pathology at DFCI, within a vibrant community of translational and basic research that includes Harvard Medical School (HMS), Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital Boston. Competitive salaries are available to support applicants with a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent and a strong background in molecular and cancer biology. The position will require the handling of small laboratory animals, and training for this will be provided. A minimum 4-year commitment is also required.
