Telework and Flextime
The Telework and Flextime policy was developed to define the program for working from an alternate
location (also known as teleworking) and flexible work schedules (also known as flex scheduling), and
the guidelines and rules under which it will operate.
Retirement
University employees have two retirement options, so that you can choose which plan works best for
you. Nonexempt employees are automatically enrolled in the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia
(TRS) retirement plan. Exempt employees have a choice between TRS and the Optional Retirement Plan
(ORP).
The 403(b) and 457(b) Plans offer additional ways to save for the future. You can contribute to one or
both plans in addition to your participation in either the TRS Plan or ORP.
Tuition Assistance
As part of its desire to meet its employees evolving needs, the University System of Georgia (USG) has
established an educational assistance program, the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The purpose of
TAP is to foster the professional growth and development of its eligible employees. University
employees may pursue growth and development by taking courses for free.
