Job Description:

• Provide animal enrichment, assist with animal sedations and procedures and with weighing and medicating research animals.

• Monitor and document water intake, perform hydration checks.

• Order supplies using Quartzy or Buysite system and stock clinic, monitor expiration dates and quantities, stock as needed and in timely manner.

• Perform daily monitoring of veterinary medical records.
  Perform monthly room wash downs/sanitation, perform operating room, prep room and clinic kitchen clean up.

• Prepare post-operative caging.

• Perform instrument cleaning, packing, and sterilizing.

• Responsible for routine laundry duties.

• This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.

• Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.

• Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or Associateâ™s Degree.

Experience:

• Previous work experience in an academic environment or biomedical research.

• Previous work in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Competencies

• Computer knowledge and skills.

• Organizational skills.

• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.

• Willingness to work successfully as a member of a team.

• Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a short amount of time.

• Must be detailed and organized.

Working Conditions

• Requires a fair amount of walking and also standing, laboratory/animal facility and office environments.

• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
