The Giraldez Lab is seeking a postgraduate associate interested in zebrafish husbandry to learn the zebrafish research model. It requires hands on work and maintenance of the freshwater tropical fish large fish facility under the supervision of the principal investigator of the laboratory. Must be self-motivated and physically capable of maintaining 10-liter fish tanks in shelving units.  The focus of the overall project is to use zebrafish as a model system to study vertebrate development and behavior.   Candidate will be trained on several necessary lab techniques including RNA and DNA extraction, cloning, in-situ probe generation, in-situ hybridization, zebrafish tissue collection, genotyping using PCR and gel electrophoresis, and data interpretation and analysis.
