We are looking for an Animal Facility Supervisor to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in South San Francisco, CA.

What you will do! In the Animal Facility Supervisor role, you will plan, create, assign, and monitor work schedules for staff daily assignments and for weekend/holiday coverage. In partnership with HR, conduct interviews, assist in recruitment efforts, investigate personnel issues, and respond to employees per company policies. You will participate in meetings with Operations to keep them informed of current/future projects; monitor and document task completion/deviations from defined KPI's to submit monthly to upper management in support of contract deliverables. Providing backup support to include husbandry, dosing, injections, and collections will be necessary on an as needed basis. The AFS will identify staff training needs and ensure necessary training is conducted, as well as conduct and participate in train the trainer sessions.
In this role you will also generate work orders and ensure documentation of all corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures and follow up to ensure timely resolution to issues and provide updates to management when resolved. Provide timely, concise and effective communication regarding all facility utilities, infrastructure, process equipment, and supply chain and housing system issues to Management and coordinate the movement of animals throughout the facility and assign housing locations for receipt of new animals. In addition, the AFS will oversee adherence to all site operational procedures and all required documentation related to the department as well as supervise record maintenance and generate and submit internal and external reports in the required formats and timeframes and report to management on operations related issues.
Who are we looking for? A candidate that possesses a HS diploma or GED is required; Bachelor of Science in Animal Science or related field preferred, Minimum five (5) years in a laboratory animal facility of which 3 years is supervisory or management experience. AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level (LAT) or higher /ability to successfully achieve LATG certification within 24 months. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

The pay range for this position is $87-95K annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
