Penn State’s Animal Resource Program is searching for a full time ABSL3 and Gnotobiotic Laboratory Animal Technician to join their team. Duties include: ? -Following research protocols in the performance of weaning, ear tagging, blood and tissue collection, injections, and other treatments in the ABSL-3 and Gnotobiotic facilities -Completing surgical preparation, pre-, peri-, and post-operative observations and assisting with research procedures as directed -Performing animal handling and restraint -Ensuring proper breeding procedures are followed and appropriate colony levels are maintained -Following weaning procedures -Preparing and providing standard diets, special diets, standard water, or special water as they relate to the research protoc
