ABOUT US

The incumbent will conduct research experiments in cooperation with the rest of the laboratory team to support ongoing research projects that explores the biology of cancer metastasis and early cancer progression the mechanisms of dormancy and awakening of dormant cancer cells. The successful candidate will have experience in a laboratory environment and accuracy in order to extract reliable and valid results. The Research Tech B will report directly to a Principal Investigator (PI). Expertise in handling laboratory animals is preferred.

The candidate will develop a number of low and medium complexity techniques with daily and weekly frequency. The main task is to manage the mouse colonies. This includes understanding the genetics and breeding schema and performing the crosses, preparing the litters and performing genotyping and appropriate QC and record keeping as well as providing animals to users in the team. The candidate is also expected to perform qPCR among other techniques on a weekly to monthly frequency and not simultaneously. This position also entails contacting vendors and service providers, helping make sure glassware and other basic laboratory equipment are in optimal condition.
