Research Associate 1-B/H who participates in the planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in a basic and translational immunological research laboratory in the Department of Otolaryngology; Perform laboratory techniques that include PCR, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, tissue and blood sample processing, animal husbandry duties, and routine procedures with laboratory animals; Analyze and interpret research data; Assist with implementation of new or revised research methodologies and techniques; Test experimental designs; Performs critical analysis of relevant biomedical literature; Assist in preparation of manuscripts for publication and proposals to obtain extramural funding; coordinate laboratory activities of postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and laboratory research staff; Oversee and coordinate maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment; Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Skills/Experience Required/Desired Bachelors degree in an appropriate biological science or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ability to translate and apply academic and practical knowledge in the conduct of biomedical research required. Experience in biomedical research preferred. Successful completion of a background check required. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including drug screen.
