Job Summary:
The University of Kentucky believes that the ethical and humane use of animals for research, teaching and testing is essential for the advancement of science and the discovery of treatments and cures for diseases in humans and animals alike.
The Division of Laboratory Animal Resources (DLAR) is a support unit for animal-based research at UK and provides the best possible veterinary and humane care for the laboratory animal species used by researchers at UK. The DLAR Lab Animal Veterinarian will provide clinical care for DLAR operations. The Lab Animal Veterinarian will work with senior clinical veterinarians to address emerging needs and help ensure that investigators, animal care, and supervisor staff maintain appropriate standards for animal care and welfare.

Required License/Registration/Certification :
Obtain KY Veterinary License within six months of hire.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Experience with laboratory animal species preferred.
