We are seeking a Researcher 1 with skills in or willingness to learn laboratory animal procedures. Participate with a team of professionals to support University investigators to translate their discoveries into clinical trials and treatments for patients. We work with a diverse array of medical inventions with many different clinical applications, and there is always opportunity here to learn new things and apply your skills to new sets of challenges.
DUTIES
Laboratory Research (80%)
Work with numerous species of laboratory research animals in compliance with animal welfare protocols for each project which are approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
Work with animal models and conduct health monitoring of species on approved protocols.
Document laboratory procedures to the standard required to reconstruct the study from the information recorded at the time of performance.
Maintain study records according to laboratory procedures for quality assurance review and filing.
Clear, timely, and effective communication.
Administrative Support (20%)
Read and understand animal welfare protocols to comply with requirements.
Read, understand and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and forms.
Project reporting assistance with templates, content, review, and editing.
Communication with CTM staff in meetings, and in e-mail correspondence and reporting.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA or an equivalent combination of education and work experience to equal 4 years.
Willing to work with any of several species which may be required for the development of products facilitated by our organization.
Occasional weekend or holiday shifts may be required for treatment administration and/or health monitoring of laboratory animals, a responsibility shared with other research staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skilled and experienced with word processing and spreadsheet applications (Word and Excel)
