Attending Veterinarian
The Attending Veterinarian (AV) is charged with maintaining a program of appropriate veterinary care, designing and implementing preventative medicine programs, and providing health monitoring, diagnosis, treatment, and post-operative care for multiple species. The AV is responsible for the health and welfare of all animals used in University protocols, the necessity for and components of treatment administered, and the necessity for euthanasia. The AV is charged with managing the daily care needs of the animals, providing necessary veterinary care, monitoring all use of animals by university personnel, and ensuring the highest standards of animal care are always met. The AV helps in providing assurance of compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies and in fostering strong commu
