Function/Duties of PositionPerforms preventive or corrective maintenance tasks pertaining to Department of Comparative Medicine (DCM) facility Campus-Wide operations including but not limited to changing HVAC filters, fan belts, checking motor timing and testing control systems. Fabricates parts and possess knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, HVAC systems and components. Coordinates the work of other DCM facility technicians and outside vendors, interfaces with animal research staff and assists the Operations Manager with DCM facility issues and building support systems operation. Must have a broad knowledge of practices and methods of various trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical. Requires intermediate knowledge of the use of hand and shop
