Our laboratory is in its inception phase, led by a forward-thinking Principal Investigator who has recently joined the University of North Carolina. We're focused on pioneering research in microbiology, with a special emphasis on the vaginal microbiome. From fundamental microbiology to advanced preclinical studies, we aim to improve women's health through innovative microbiome-directed therapeutics and discoveries.
Responsibilities: - Contribute to the establishment and progression of research projects related to the vaginal microbiome, spanning fundamental microbiology, microbial ecology, and preclinical studies. - Cultivate and analyze bacteria from human or animal samples, applying a range of wet lab techniques. - Develop new assays and tools to study vaginal bacteria - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovative research in the field. - Utilize computational skills (e.g., R, Python) for data analysis and interpretation.
Education and Experience:
- Strong computational skills, ideally with proficiency in R, Python, or similar languages. - Experience working with laboratory animals
