The Associate Director serves as the attending Veterinarian and has responsibility for all animals used in research and teaching in the Animal Care Facility (ACF) at Meharry Medical College. As a key member of the ACF’s leadership team, the Associate Director is responsible for the highest standards of animal care, welfare, regulatory compliance, education, training and customer service. This position provides or delegates clinical care and preventative medicine for lab animal species and interphases with the laboratory animal facility management, supports the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) activities and animal use and compliance issues.
