The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) is seeking a highly motivated and talented technician to join our team. The laboratory is looking for a team member who can assist with lab organization and immunological assays. We collaborate closely with renowned scientists and physicians across multiple departments at CUIMC spanning research in cancers, cancer therapy, immunology, autoimmunity, transplantation, inflammation, infectious diseases, and others.
Key responsibilities include: operation, maintenance of research laboratory; preparation of samples and reagents; and assistance in immunological assay development and optimization.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of new assays, methods, and reagents
Runs high-volume ELISA
Maintain a detailed, up-to-date, and accurate record of samples, reagents, instrument tuning and QC
Perform routine data processing and assists with data analysis
Maintain and organize supplies inventory
Order supplies and prepare service bills
Contribute to building a culture that embraces scientific excellence, integrity, efficiency, teamwork, and continuous learning and improvement
Perform other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis on chemistry, biology, physics, or physics
One year of related experience or equivalent in training and experience
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in lab research, especially working with immunological assays and ELISA
Other Requirements
The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
Participation in the medical surveillance program
Ability to work with laboratory animals
Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
