This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.

The mission of the Basic Biology of Aging lab is to identify new metabolic properties of senescent cells and target those properties to treat aging and age-related disease.

Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, the technician conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include monitoring and feeding laboratory animals, performing assays, tissue culture, electrophoresis, and other laboratory techniques. Will also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. The technician may also be called upon to adapt new assays as well as read and interpret scientific literature.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in biology, chemistry or related field, familiarity with basic laboratory techniques (pH meter, specrophotometers, balance, PCR), sterile cell culture facility, and essential standard procedures.
• Willingness to work with mice.
