Job Summary: The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a Scientist II to work on studies related to cardiac arrhythmia and heart failure. The incumbent will design and conduct studies to understand the cellular, molecular, and whole-heart mechanisms by which mutations in cardiac proteins affect calcium handling, leading to arrhythmia and heart failure. The incumbent will design and conduct experiments using genetically engineered animals (mainly mice and rabbits) and other relevant model systems. This position requires close coordination with the supervisor to prepare reports for sponsors, develop new grant applications and prepare manuscripts for publication.
