The genetically modified rodent colony specialist will be responsible for tailoring the supply of various animal models to the demand for these animals from the scientific investigators at UCSF's Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases. This position will be central to the proper and efficient operation of the genetically modified animal models core and the management of the breeding colony at the animal facility of the UCSF Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases located in Southeast San Francisco. This person will advise a group of animal care technicians in maintaining and developing >100 strains of genetically modified mice and rats, providing broad colony management services.
