Research Specialist II
The Whitaker Lab within the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Specialist II to join a multidisciplinary group exploring anesthesia, blood pressure, and organ perfusion in both a rat model and a pediatric swine model. The overall goal of this research is to determine the vascular determinants of anesthesia-induced hypotension and to identify organ perfusion-dependent definitions of hypotension in the setting of general anesthesia. Our group uses cutting-edge, clinically relevant in vivo and in vitro techniques to evaluate the complex interaction of anesthetic agents, vascular physiology, blood pressure, and organ perfusion to establish best practices for intraoperative management in vulnerable patients.
